Tectonic geomorphology of active mountain belts

We reconstruct chronosequences of alluvial terraces in the Northern Apennines and the Torino Hill using CN exposure dating and optically stimulated luminescence dating (OSL), in order to constrain uplift rates of the mountain front. We use tectonic modelling of the frontal structure to study the Pleistocene to Holocene shortening history while assessing seismic hazard. In collaboration with Prof. M.G. Forno and Dr. F. Gianotti (University of Torino).
